Zoë Horne
Equine Experience and Qualifications:
Ponies and horses have been in Zoë’s life for as long as she can remember. Her first pony Springton April Star taught her much about falling off, while her second pony Storm Bird was the perfect pony in every respect. Purchased perhaps the wrong way around?
From an early age Zoë revelled in all Pony Club activities and regularly competed her ponies at local and county level, occasionally with success.
A weekend position at the age of 12 on a thoroughbred stud farm and licensed racing stable ensured Zoë caught the racing bug. Upon leaving full-time education she embarked on a career in the horseracing industry.
Obtaining an amateur jockeys licence Zoë rode with limited success on the racecourse. With experience came responsibility and positions as head groom and assistant trainer beckoned.
In 2002 Zoë accepted a post at the Northern Racing College, Doncaster, where her role included marketing horseracing as a career choice to a wide and varied audience.
In 2010 Zoë returned to working in a hands-on capacity with horses and as a result Elite Equine was borne.
Zoë holds the internationally recognised Level 3 Vocational Qualification in Racehorse Care and Management. In addition she has gained the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health Managing Safely certificate and is first aid trained and has undergone an enhanced criminal records bureau disclosure.
Sam Cannon
Equine Experience and Qualifications:
Sam has gained a wealth of equine experience during a career which has spanned more than 15 years.
Sam is fully versed in all equine disciplines and has competed predominantly in the field of show jumping.
Sam is very capable and excels with horses who require a sympathetic approach; patience being one of her most valuable assets. She is also very experienced with young horses.
Sam holds the BHS Stage 3 qualification and is equine specific first aid trained.
Taylor Woods
Equine Experience and Qualifications:
Taylor is a very accomplished rider having competed at HOYS, BSPS and PUK. She has experience of riding and training a wide variety of horses, including racehorses that are being re-schooled for a second career.
Taylor turns horses out with much pride and is a valued member of the team.
Taylor holds several equine qualifications including a National Diploma in Horse Management.
Claudia Richardson
Equine Experience and Qualifications:
Claudia is from a farming background and has been working with horses since graduating from Agricultural College in 2000.
Claudia is very capable especially with young horses, stallions and colts and broodmares, particularly during foaling.
Fully versed in all yard duties Claudia turns her horses out to the highest standard.
Claudia holds a Horse Management BTEC Level 3 Diploma.
